Who we are
NODfactory operates this online shop for 3D-printed products. This policy explains how we collect and use personal data when you use our website.
Data we collect
- Account details: name, username, email, and password (stored securely hashed).
- Order data: items purchased, amounts, shipping address, and payment status.
- Communications: messages you send via our contact form.
- Technical data: cookies used for sign-in and security (see below).
- Anonymous usage analytics: which pages and products are viewed, basket actions, and completed purchases. We do not use third-party ad trackers or store your IP address in our analytics.
How we use your data
- To create and manage your account.
- To process orders and payments.
- To send order confirmations, receipts, and status updates by email.
- To respond to support requests.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
- To understand how the shop is used so we can improve products, layout, and checkout (aggregated, anonymous statistics only).
Payment processing
Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card details on our servers. Stripe processes payment data according to its own privacy policy.
We send transactional emails (registration codes, receipts, password resets, order updates) using our email provider. We do not sell your email address to third parties for marketing.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect checkout. We also set a short-lived anonymous session cookie so we can count unique visitors in our own analytics without identifying you personally. These are required for the shop to function. By continuing to use the site after viewing our cookie notice, you accept this use.
Shop analytics
We run first-party analytics on our own servers to see which pages and products are popular, when baskets are started, and when orders complete. Events are linked to a rotating anonymous visitor key (not your name or email). If you are signed in, we may record that the action came from a logged-in customer account, but we do not sell this data or share it with advertising networks.
Detailed event logs are kept for about thirteen months, then removed or replaced with daily summary totals. You can ask us to explain what we hold via the contact form.
How long we keep data
We retain account and order records for as long as needed to fulfil orders, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Anonymous analytics events are deleted after roughly thirteen months; older periods are kept only as aggregated daily counts without personal identifiers.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data. Contact us using the contact form and we will respond within a reasonable time.
